Sunday 18th August - Waterfall out West (Akira/Peter)

Waterfall, maybe pizza, maybe icecream

From Takao we go southwest to Ebira-sawa waterfall; then ENE to Hashimoto. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30837704 Only 76 km; and according to RwGPS only 1800m of climbing, and in reality a lot less than that because the RwGPS calculation ignores bridges and tunnels. No long, exhausting ascents; no long, rim-sizzling descents.

Ebira-sawa waterfall is pretty substantial: see https://www.nobuhito.com/kanagawawater/ebirasawa-waterfall/ and https://splasher.jp/waterfalls/ebira_shiro.html . Apparently you can bathe below it. (Please keep your naughty bits covered.)

We set off at 08:30 from outside the 7-11 just downhill from the north exit of Takao station (Keiō or Chūō line).

The route ends at Hashimoto station. From there you can take the JR Yokohama line to Machida or of course Yokohama; or the Keiō Sagamihara line to Keiō Nagayama (right next to Odakyū Nagayama), Chōfu or Shinjuku.

Bring a water bottle or two and a spare inner tube.

Plotter and navigator: Akira Kihara. Somewhere in the back: Peter Evans peter.evans.somewhere@PROTECTED
