Half-fasters all

First, thanks to Mike (and James) for again keeping things running during the long, hot, summer.

I’ve no friggin’ idea what the weather will do this weekend, but here’s what I have planned:

Saturday looking a bit less wet than previous forecasts this week, so let’s do an Odaiba beginners’ jaunt. And Monday I think we can get in a late-start Tama Loop. No other rides have been proposed, but watch this space for additional adventures and/or cancellation messages.

Saturday Odaiba beginners'

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for an easy, 30-km lope out to the magical island in the bay for a brew or two. Back by 2:00 probably. Leader: me.

Monday Tama Loop

It’s a long shot to predict the weather two days ahead at this time of year, but let’s start at NOON, giving ourselves another hour to wait out the forecast “morning showers.” Intermediate-level. 55km, easy but fast. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at >>>NOON<<<. Alternate rendezvous points: KFC in Ebisu @ 12:30, Intersection of Kan-Nana and Komazawa-Dori @ 12:45, Komazawa Park @ 1:00, bridge at Futako-Tamagawa (Kanagawa side) @ 1:20, Gas Bashi @ 1:45 or 2:00. Long break at Jonan Jima seaside park (across from Haneda) at 2:30 or 3:00. Convenience store lunch. Please contact me if one of these meeting spots applies to you. 090-5813-6721. Back by 4:00 or 4:30.

Annual Stefano Gourmet Italian Picnic

I’ll send out more information later today, but Half-Fast’s top chef has set the date for this year’s amazing picnic at Sunday, October 6th. Mark the date. Reservations requested.

Ciao for now,

Il Padrone, 090-5813-6721
