Still-healthy bikers

For this three-day weekend: On Friday, Sal will lead a beginners’ plus ride out to Kasai Rinkai, while Peter is arranging a little hill-climbing out Kazahari Rindo way. Saturday and Sunday I’m planning a pair of beginners’ jaunts, one to Odaiba and the other to Jonan Jima.

Friday Kasai Rinkai Beginners' Plus

Starting point: the Grand Hyatt Roppongi Hills at 10:30 (promptly) for a “beginners’ plus” ride out to seaside park near Disneyland. Back about 15:00. This ride is a little bit further and a little bit faster than our usual beginners’ rides. The distance is about 45km.  Leader: Sal. 090-7816-4612 / salvatoresalvino@PROTECTED

Friday Kazahari rindō!

We set off at 07:00 from the forecourt of 7-11 Tamagawa branch
https://goo.gl/maps/su1z5545Sk4ZHq169 (thus beside the final dogleg of
Komazawa-dōri), ride to Musashi Itsukaichi at a rate that won't
deplete too much energy; set off at 10:00 from the forecourt of 7-11
Musashi Itsukaichi branch https://goo.gl/maps/79kMUqqgm98f3qBX9 .

Feel free to get to Musashi Itsukaichi by train; but if this is your
plan, then please email me (address below) when you're on your way.
(Because if we/I get to Musashi Itsukaichi early and don't know of any
reason to hang around, then we/I might otherwise set off early.)

The real fun starts at Musashi Itsukaichi: Tossaka pass, then Kazahari
pass the challenging way https://funq.jp/bicycle-club/article/560079/
, then (if we're not already feeling too knackered) Fujiwara pass. The
route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/32145060

And finally I plan to ride my charinko back from Musashi Itsukaichi
station; but I could lazily decide to take the train instead. Please
make your own choice. It's a good idea to bring along a rinkōbukuro.

This isn't a ride for beginners. And your brakes should be in good
nick. But the scenery is good, the climbs and descents are
exhilarating (OK, or exhausting or scary), the cars and traffic lights
are few, and we can escape the crowds of the megalopolis and their
pestilential droplets.

Saturday Odaiba Beginners’

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for an easy lope out to a little picnic spot under the Rainbow Bridge. Supplies at convenience store. 30km, easy. Back by about 2:30. Leadere: me.

Sunday Haneda Beginners’

Start at the Hyatt at 11:00 for an easy 30-km  ride out to Jonan Jima, a nice little park opposite Haneda Airport. This is also a recon mission to judge the state of the blossoms for a possible cherry blossom party next weekend. Leader: me.

All for now,

Any other rides to me any time, and I’ll forward to the group.
