Our Prime Minister

…has lifted the country-wide state of emergency, including Tokyo. That doesn’t mean things are back to normal, but I think we can consider taking properly distanced rest stops and venturing into convenience stores (read: beer). But we’ll keep our faces covered for the time being. So two rides this beautiful weekend, the usual hop out to Odaiba on Saturday and a Kasai Rinkai adventure on Sunday.

Saturday Odaiba Beginners’

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills for an easy 30-km lope out to the island in the bay. I’ve no idea what’s open, but we will take a break in a park near the conveini. Start at 11:00, back by 2:30 at the latest. Slight chance of a brief thunderstorm. Bring rain gear.

Sunday Kasai Rinkai Intermediate

Start at the Hyatt at 11:00 for a maybe 45-50 km ride out to a pretty park near Disneyland. We’ll have to scout things out re: buying drinks and snacks. Back by 3:30 or so.

Don’t forget your mask!

Courage and caution
