NIGHT
RIDE!
Pleased was I to note a dry day coming up Saturday. Less so when I saw the high would be 32C with a “feels like” temp of 36! This is dangerously hot to be out in the sun pedaling vigorously. But I had been wanting to do a night ride before I leave for the States next weekend, so here we go. If you’re less susceptible to hot, muggy weather then please go out on Saturday and get some exercise. Then get back to the Hyatt by about 6:00 p.m. for a little midnight rambling.
Masks up, please; you probably are aware of Tokyo’s fourth state of emergency being declared. It will last until after the Olympics. And bring an eco bag for your convenience store snacks. We frown on accepting single-use plastic bags.
Saturday Odaiba Night Ride
Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 6:00 p.m. for an easy yet spectacular 30km ride out to the (extra) magical island in the bay for a brew or two. If you’ve never ridden around this super city after dark, you’ve got a treat in store. Tokyo by night is an entirely different animal.. Back by around 8:30. Post-ride activities to be made up as we go. The weather authorities indicate the possibility of isolated thundershowers, but they kind of have to say that. Worst case: we get hit with a little warm rain.
That’s what I got this week
