…are turning, so this weekend we’ll try something a little different. After our usual Odaiba run on Saturday, we will on Sunday ride out via mostly riverside paths to Inokashira Park in the hope of catching a bit of seasonal color. Temps looking about 13-14 degrees, so a little chillier, but strong sunshine. And winds of up to 22 kph, so dress accordingly.
Masks up for meeting points and convenience stores, etc. Optional while riding. Don’t forget an eco bag for your store-bought lunch.
Saturday Odaiba Beginners’ Ride
Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 for a quick 30-km jaunt out to Odaiba for a brew or two on the dock of the bay. Back by 2:30 at the very latest.
Sunday Inokashira Adventure
Start at the Hyatt at 11:00, head out through Omotesando and NHK and on out Inokashira Dori, to hook up with the Kanda River, and then it’s riverside bike paths all the way out to the park. Not a real fast ride here, as there are pesky gates at many spots along the path. And I don’t know where we’ll get beer and lunch because I haven’t been out that way for a few years. Suggestions welcome. Bring along a spirit of discovery. Not sure how far, but I would guess about 40-45 km. Back by around 3:30.
