WEEKEND
….looks pretty much like last weekend, weather wise (10 degrees and sunny Saturday, 9 degrees and mostly cloudy Sunday, with little wind), so a reprise of last week’s keep-fit rides. Odaiba on Saturday and Jonan on Sunday (though the latter may be cut short if there’s no sunshine). And oh, the forecast right now for next weekend is rain or even snow, so let’s get in some pedaling while we can.
Masks up, please, for meeting places and stores, optional while riding (but recommended considering the latest Omicron surge). Bring an eco-bag.
Saturday Odaiba Jaunt
Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for our usual easy 30-km ride out to the island in the bay for a brew or two. NOTE: We’re informed by our favorite beach bar that emergency COVID regulations prevent them from selling us beer (!). So perhaps we can send someone on a beer run to the convenience store. Back by about 2:00.
Sunday Jonan Jima Adventure
Start at the Hyatt at 11:00 for another easy, 30-km lope out to a little beach park across from Haneda Airport. NOTE: If there’s no sunshine, we may make this a non-stop ride and head straight back to Azabu. We’ll decide on the way. Back by 2:00.
