Getting
cooler

But perfect for biking, with temps 19-20 and mostly sunny. So Saturday a short ride to Jonan Jima out Haneda way, and Sunday two rides: an Odaiba Plus and a full Arakawa loop, hopefully meeting up at some point.

Lead a ride!  If you want to share with us your favorite weekend ride, send me the details by Friday noon, stating start/end points, distance, meet-up spots, degree of difficulty, and, most importantly beer stops. And I’ll include it in our weekly mailing. Don’t forget to include your contact info.

Masks up, please, for meeting points, stores, etc. Otherwise optional while riding. Wear a helmet and leave the headphones at home. Vaccinated riders only. Bring an eco bag for your lunch; we frown on single-use plastic bags.

Saturday Jonan Jima

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for a little jaunt out a beach across from Haneda. I’ll tack on a bit out at the end so distance about 35k. Convenience store lunch. Back by 2:00 or so.

Sunday Odaiba Plus

Our usual run out to the magical island in the bay, but with 15k tacked on to the first leg, making it about 45km all together, with 30km before the first beer. Start at the Grand Hyatt at 11:00.

Note: this ride will likely meet up at some point with James’s Arakawa loop (keep reading).

Sunday Arakawa Loop

James: Departure from Roppongi Hills Grand Hyatt 9.30a.m. sharp

60+ km. Don’s Famous Arakawa route. Go through Tokyo to the Arakawa. Then downstream to Tokyo Baycross over to Kasai Seaside Park and then head to Odaiba for some lovely Chicken, ice cream, etc....

Intermediate ride, beginner-plus pace.
