…what the blossoms or the weather will do. But while Saturday is shaping up to pretty wet, Sunday is forecast to be 15 degrees and sunny, so let’s carpe us some diem and head out for an Odaiba Plus ride. If the blossoms are starting to show, we have a few options that we can discuss while en route. I rode through our usual Ohanami area in Oi Futo Central Park yesterday. There were signs all over stating no parties, just strolling through. And the buzzkills that run this city have even fenced off our grassy area. Forecast for next weekend is also wet, but with Sunday having an “AM showers” note. We’ll see.
Masks optional but recommended for meet-up spots, stores, etc. Don’t forget your reusable eco-bag for any convenience store lunch purchases. Vaccinated riders only.
Sunday Odaiba Plus
Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 for our usual jaunt out to the island in the bay. The “plus” means that I’ll tack on a scenic 15k to the front end, making the total about 45km. Beer stops to be determined. There’s a pretty spot in Tsukuda Park on the river (between the “canal toilet" and the suspension bridge with a view of SkyTree), and me and Google have locate a nearby convenience store. Break duration also TBD, likely back by 3:00. Coffee
