This is the weekend we’ve been waiting for, after being rained out last week. There should be plenty of blossoms left, so on Saturday let’s go out to our traditional spot at Oi Futo Central Park and do some appreciating of nature’s ephemeral beauty. Then on Sunday an Odaiba Plus ride.

Masks optional but recommended for meet-up spots and stores. Bring a reusable eco-bag for any convenience store purchases. Vaccinated riders only.

Good time to sign up for the upcoming Tokyo Bay Cruise. See attached doc.

Saturday O-hanami Party

More a ride out to a park to drink beer than a proper bike ride. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for an easy ride out to Oi Futo Central Park. Our destination is the grove of cherry trees just to the north of the baseball stadium we pass on the way back from Jonan Jima. We’ll first stop at a convenience store near the park to stock up on edibles and drinks. Or bring a snack. Total distance about 23 km. Non-biking friends and family can get there on the Tokyo Monorail, getting off at Oi Keibajo-mae station. We’ll stay a little longer than our usual break. So back by around 3:00. Bring something to sit on. Coffee

Sunday Odaiba Plus

Our usual run out to the magic island in the bay, but with some extra distance tacked on the front end to make the total about 45-50km. Of course we’ll pass several lovely cherry blossom spots so don’t hesitate to tell me if you want to stop for a photo. Start at the Grand Hyatt at 11:00 a.m., back, possibly to the pub, by 3:30. Coffee

That’s all, folks!
