SUNNY

Is about my threshold for enjoyable riding, and that’s what we’re told to expect on Sunday (after Saturday’s cold and damp).  So an easy ride out to the beach at Odaiba, but with the option to be decided en route on whether to extend this to an Odaiba Plus. There’s to be little wind and few clouds, so the extension is likely. It will be only 7 degrees at the start place/time, so put on a few extra layers.

Sunday Odaiba-possible-plus

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. Distance 30 (or 45) km, back by 2:00 (or 3:30). Back streets, rivers, canals, Dinosaur Bridge, windmills, parks, helicopters, bike paths, beaches and just one big bridge. Coffee

Paul Update

Radiation therapy completed! Last chemo session was due on Monday (8th) but was postponed to 15th due to my white blood cell count dropping too severely week on week.

Recovery to basic functionality will take an estimated 3-4 weeks but they warned that it is not uncommon for it to take longer.

I've lost a lot of weight (I'm 76 kgs now, down from 86 kgs) and a lot of it is muscle so there's a lot of exercise/training needed to get back to here I was 6 months ago.

Doc thinks I'll be able to return to work before the end of March. He's not sure about cycling...
