Well, about last weekend. I’d rather be caught in the rain than cancel or not plan a bike ride because of forecast rain that doesn’t come. Turned out nice. Hope you got in a little pedaling.

This weekend we have a pair of almost identical days, according to that lying weather service (22-23 degrees, mostly sunny, little wind), and the blossoms are just winding up their annual display, so let’s try to get in a few cherry blossom rides. Saturday a short jaunt out to our traditional blossom-appreciating spot in Oi Central Park. and on Sunday an intermediate-level Odaiba Plus.

I’ll be away for the next month, but James will humbly leap into the breach and organize a few rides. And don’t forget to sign up for this year’s Half-Fast Tokyo Bay Cruise on the evening of June 8th. Sooner is better, as I will cut off registration if the boat gets too full. Not to be missed. Saturday Cherry Blossoms

Our usual jaunt out toward Jonan Jima, but instead of going to the beach, we’ll head for Oi Seaside Park (the big baseball stadium on the way back from Jonan), stop at a different convenience store (bring an eco-bag) for supplies, and proceed to the park. You west-Tokyo types can meet us at the convenience store near the stadium at about noon. Call me if you get lost.

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m., total distance 25km, about an hour or so at the venue and back by 3:00 at the latest.

Sunday Odaiba Plus

Start at the Grand Hyatt at 11 for a 45-km jaunt over bridges, along canals and bike paths way out into the bay, to a beach bar lunch at Odaiba. Back by 3:30 or so.
