Saturday 10 August - Yabitsu (because you can't have too much of Yabitsu) (Peter/Akira)
Yes, Yabitsu and more, with considerable shade. Only 71 km, only 1700m of climbing. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30775331We set off at 08:00 from outside the 7-11 just downhill from the north exit of Takao station (Keiō or Chūō line); take an undulating route to and around lake Miyagase; go up Yabitsu the easy way; go down to Hadano station (Odakyū Odawara line), near which we'll have a rather lunch (or not, if you're in a hurry to get back home). An early start, because the likelihood of thundershowers increases as the day progresses. Grandpa speed; wait at the tops and turnings. The combination of carbon fibre rims and rim brakes isn't recommended, and your brakes should be in good nick; but that aside, just about any bike and wheels should be OK. Bring a spare inner tube (even if you’re "tubeless"), two water bottles, showerproof jacket, cash for lunch.Plotter and navigator: Akira Kihara. Contact person (who'll be somewhere in the back): Peter Evans peter.evans.somewhere@PROTECTED
Sunday 11 August - Yokohama suburban rice fields (Oneris)
For the ones who doesn't wanna wake up early on a holiday weekend!!! We will leave from Tsunashima station at 13:45, we will also stop at Nakayama station at 14:45~ here is the map of the route! https://www.strava.com/activities/2569205480 --
