Masked Riders!
Sounds more romantic than it is, tight? This weekend we’ll get the dry, sunny weather we were so cruelly denied last week, so I’ll unaploogetically propose a pair of our usual rides. The routes may be the same, but the rides are always different. Different riders, different weather, different conversations. Anyone wishing greater variety is free to offer alternative rides or suggest changes to mine.
So, a run out to Odaiba on Saturday and a Tama loop on Sunday. The weather will be partly cloudy and 27-28 degrees, so keep hydrated and take it easy. When it gets into the low 30s, I abandon daytime rides and do night rides. Awesome.
Let’s keep the masks in place, and please don’t make me have to remind you to wear them properly. I dislike them as much as you do, and being a noodge is not my style (ref: the name of the club), but I don’t want to be responsible for any infections. No mask, no ride. Okay?
Saturday Odaiba Beginners'
Start from the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for an easy, 30-km lope out to the magical island in the bay. Beer stop at a little park. Back by around 2:00.
Sunday Tama River Loop
Intermediate-level. 55km, easy but fast. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. Alternate rendezvous points: KFC in Ebisu @ 11:30, Intersection of Kan-Nana and Komazawa-Dori @ 11:45, Komazawa Park @ noon, bridge at Futako-Tamagawa (Kanagawa side) @ 12:20, Gas Bashi @ 12:45 or 1:00. Long break at Jonan Jima seaside park (across from Haneda) at 1:30 or 2:00. Convenience store lunch. Please contact me if one of these meeting spots applies to you. 090-5813-6721. Back by 3:00 or 3:30. I have a new idea for a post-ride beer and burger stop if anyone’s interested.
Caution and Courage,
Il Padrone, 090-5813-6721
