Saturday Odaiba Beginners’

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. for an easy lope out to the beach in the bay for a convenience store picnic. 30km. Back by 2:00 or 2:30. The forecast as of this minute has a brief thundershower at around noon. Since the temp will be hovering around 30-32 degrees, this should be viewed as a refreshing sprinkle. Back by 2:30 at the latest. Leader: me.

Sunday Haneda Beginners’

Start at the Hyatt at 11:00 for another easy 30km ride out to Jonan Jima near Heneda Airport. I thought about doing a full Tama loop but as a decrepit old fart I didn’t want to attempt that in 32 degree weather. So I asked James to to it (see below), and the two groups will with any luck meet at Jonan. Back by 2:30 at the latest.

Sunday Tama Loop

Intermediate-level, 55km, easy but fast. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 9:00 a.m. SHARP Alternate rendezvous points: KFC in Ebisu @ 9:15, Intersection of Kan-Nana and Komazawa-Dori @ 9:40, Komazawa Park @ 10:00, bridge at Futako-Tamagawa (Kanagawa side) @ 10:30, Gas Bashi @ around 11:00. Long break at Jonan Jima seaside park (across from Haneda) at 12:30. Convenience store lunch. Please contact James Wee (not me) if one of these meeting spots applies to you. 090-2874-4848. Back by 2:00 or 2:30.

Ciao for now,
