Sweaty cyclists
This weekend is kind of at the mercy of the weather. James will do a very early run out to Jonan on Saturday morning. In the evening, I’ll ask the thunder gods to hold off until later so we can get in a combination short night ride/sayonara party without getting too wet. Our friend Martin Rowse is leaving soon and has invited us to the Canal Cafe in Iidabashi (
https://www.canalcafe.jp/about-us?fbclid=IwAR1ru_vZrGWP8LWxRWvWLu5MOLPkbEnqfiyXhWXVd6d0oGX89H2xPhMhgnE ) for a brew or two. It’s a big, open outdoor space. So I’ll start an abbreviated evening ride to Odaiba at
5:00 and end up at the Cafe hopefully by around 7:30.
Right now, Sunday looks like a washout. But that could always change, and if it does, I’ll send a note out Saturday night about an evening Jonan ride.
No mask, no ride
Saturday Dawn Jonan
Start from the Grand Hyatt Roppongi Hills at 6:00 a.m. SHARP
Prerequisite: WATER, HELMET, FACEMASK
Pace: Easy, beginners
Distance: 30km
Details: Come on down for a refreshing leisurely 30km trip to Jonan Jima. Back by 9AM.
Ride leader : James Wee
Saturday evening ride/drinks
Start at the Hyatt at 5:00 p.m. for an abbreviated, non-stop Odaiba ride, and once back to the Imperial Palace, head for Iidabashi and the Canal Cafe (link above) Total distance about 39km. This all depends on where the evening’s thundershowers go, and could be canceled (we can still get there by train).
And that’s the way it is
Stay safe and healthy
