Okay,
Winter’s
Here

Getting colder, so bundle up! This Saturday I have to wait around for some apartment maintenance guys, and anyway with a high of about 7 it’ll be colder than a crocodile’s crotch. So no rides from me.

But that apparently doesn’t deter Phil and Matt, who have humbly leapt into the breach to offer a few rides detailed below. Note: they start from the same spot a half hour apart and both head toward the Arakawa, so don’t end up with the wrong group.

On Sunday I’ll do an Odaiba ride, with no beer stop but ending up at a pub.

Masks up for meeting spots, stores, etc,; optional while riding.

Kasai Seaside Park Ride (Matt)

Meet at Roppongi Hills Grand Hyatt 11 a.m.

Go through Tokyo to the Arakawa. Then down to Tokyo Bay before crossing over to Kasai Seaside Park and around to Odaiba. Return to Grand Hyatt around 2:30pm.
40km? Beginner-plus pace. (Il Padrone note: I think Matt’s distance and return time estimates are a bit  optimistic. More like 60km and 3:30 return. Just Sayin’.)

Saturday Long Ride up the Arakawa (Phil)

This may seem inappropriate for a cold day, but let's do the Arakawa Ice Cream ride! OK, since I scared everyone off last week with the hill repeats thing, let's do a longer but much flatter and easier ride. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi HIlls at 10:30am SHARP (gather at 10:20-10:30) and follow the traditional HF route uip the Arakawa River to the ice cream stop. The route is published here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12445130

No other set meeting points, but if you plan to join somewhere along the way, please let me know where via e-mail or text message.

Sunday Odaiba Jaunt

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 for an easy, 30km lope out to the island in the bay. Since it’s kind of cold, this will be a NON-STOP ride, with no lunch break. BUT our ultimate destination is Roppongi Hobgoblin. Probably get there around 1:00.

Keep on trukin’
