IT'S BETTER
TO BE
OUT THERE
…than not be out there. So despite a bit of cool weather this weekend, we have no fewer than THREE rides on offer. Saturday will have a high of 8 degrees and partly cloudy, Sunday a bit colder.
Saturday a friend of Todd’s named Madleen, not even sure if she’s a Half-Fast member, is planning a ride up the Arakawa to Kawagoe. On the same day I’ll do our standard jaunt out to Odaiba, and on Sunday an abbreviated Jonan ride.
Masks up, please, for meet-up spots, stores and restaurants. Otherwise optional while riding. Vaccinated riders only. And bring a reusable eco-bag for your convenience store purchases. We frown on single-use plastic bags.
Saturday up the Arakawa to Kawagoe and back
Difficulty: easy
Distance: 80km from the meeting point
We will do several stops including a milk farm.
Meeting time 9:30
Saturday Odaiba Jaunt
Our usual run out to the beach in the bay for a brew or two. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m. Distance 30km, back by 2:00 Coffee
Sunday Jonan Non-Stop Out-And-Back
Since it is going to be colder and grayer, and not what you’d call “a day at the beach,” we’ll head out the back way, bypass the convenience store and the beach, and just keep going until we gat back to Hobgoblin Roppongi. Start at the Hyatt at 11:00, about 25km, Get to the pub for lunch around 1:30 or 2:00. You west-siders who usually meet us at the beach (Paul) should note that we aren’t going there. Come into town and do a reverse Tama loop. Coffee
That’s all I got
