WELL
HELL

The forecast for this weekend is almost identical to last week, and those “occasional thundershowers” are notoriously hard to predict. (BTW, me and one other guy went out to Odaiba last Saturday and got misted on at a few points but never a downpour. And we were treated to a terrific lightning show all around us.)

As biking in 35 degree heat in the sun can be lethal, not to mention not much fun, we’ll again offer two rides in the cooler parts of the day. James will do one of his very very early rides to Jonan on Saturday and I’ll do a night ride to Odaiba on Sunday.

And if at all possible, I’ll depart the Hyatt at 6 p.m. on Saturday weather permitting, to try go get a glimpse of the Sumida River fireworks. But that’s a big maybe; check the weather and call me if you want to join.

Saturday EARLY Jonanjima

Start: Grand Hyatt Roppongi at an early 6.00 a.m. sharp

Pace: Easy, beginners

Distance: 30km

Details: We’ll take a leisurely standard Half-Fast route ride down to Jonan Jima and back.

Return to Grand Hyatt by 8.30AM.  Eco bags, helmets as usual.

Sunday Odaiba Night Ride

Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 6:00 p.m. for an easy (and scenic) 30-km night ride out to Odaiba for a brew or two. Back by around 8:30. Dinner suggestions accepted.

All for now,
