Sunday Kasai Rinkai

July 18th 2020 MDT

Okay*Still not sure what the weather will be like tomorrow, but averaging three or four weather sites, it looks like morning showers. So I’ll TENTATIVELY schedule a 50-km, intermediate level ride starting at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at NOON out to Kasai Rinkai Seaside Park near Disneyland. I’ll check the radar in the morning and send a cancellation note by 10:00 if it looks like rain. The amusement never ens. Apparently neither does this rainy season,IP, 090-5813-6721P,S. We’ve had a lot of messages ki ...Continue Reading

Weekend rides (?) 18, 19

July 17th 2020 MDT

Hell if I know*…what the weather will allow this weekend as this rainy season from hell drags on. It’s hard to predict what will happen this evening let alone tomorrow or Sunday, So one day at a time. Based on the weather information available at this second, we may have a dryish late afternoon Saturday, so I’ll do a late-start run out to Odaiba, Sunday is anyone’s guess, so if there’s any chance of a ride at all, I’ll send another note Saturday night. Masks up, please.Saturday Odaiba Beginners’ (late start)*S ...Continue Reading

Sunday choices

July 11th 2020 MDT

Today’s ride is a go, but I may change it to a quick, out-and-back Odaiba run to get us back before the thunderstorms hit. We don’t have to decide until we cross the big bridge.IP -- Thank you for being on our list. You can Unsubscribe at any time. ...Continue Reading

Rides, 11, 12

July 9th 2020 MDT

Between the Raindrops*Saturday’s looking dryish, relatively speaking, and only “morning thundershowers” are forecast for Sunday, so, mad impetuous fool that I am, I’m going to schedule a pair of intermediate rides this weekend. Still, amid this prolonged rainy season, forecasts can change rapidly, so look for cancellation notices by about 9:00 a.m. each day. Also, coronavirus infections have spiked in Tokyo during the past week, so masks up, please. And if you’ve been hanging out in bars or nightclubs, please accept my ...Continue Reading

Whereas*It’ll be pissing down rain most of this weekend.andThere’s been a recent spike in Tokyo in coronavirus cases; triple digits each day for a week or soI’ll not be organising any rides this weekend. But if the clouds clear however briefly, by all means get out there and rack up some solo Ks. Mi dispiaceIl Padrone, 090-5813-6721 -- Thank you for being on our list. Saturday Tama

June 25th 2020 MDT

Pent-up peddlers*Looks like heavy rain on Sunday, so Saturday is the only rideable day this weekend. I had wanted to go out to Kasai Rinkai, but that route is only good for Sunday, when the traffic levels are lower. And a little jaunt to Odaiba isn’t enough. So repetition be damned, a Tama loop for Saturday! It’s going to be hot, at up to 31 degrees, so hydrate and remember we’re not racing. Masks in place, please.Saturday Tama Loop*Intermediate-level. 55km, easy but fast. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Rop ...Continue Reading

Tama Ride a GO

June 20th 2020 MDT

I can ensure dry weather if I cancel this ride, dontcha know. Looking mostly clear with a small chance of a drizzle midway. I’d rather get a bit damp than stay home watching the rain not come down.So we’re going, but bring rain gear.IP, 090-5813-6721 -- Thank you for being on our list. Rides, 20, 21

June 18th 2020 MDT

Masked Riders!*Sounds more romantic than it is, tight? This weekend we’ll get the dry, sunny weather we were so cruelly denied last week, so I’ll unaploogetically propose a pair of our usual rides. The routes may be the same, but the rides are always different. Different riders, different weather, different conversations. Anyone wishing greater variety is free to offer alternative rides or suggest changes to mine. So, a run out to Odaiba on Saturday and a Tama loop on Sunday. The weather will be partly cloudy and ...Continue Reading
